Our team recently conducted a field visit to Rajshahi district to work with local rice farmers. The visit focused on:
1. Soil Testing: We collected soil samples from 15 different rice fields to analyze nutrient levels and pH balance.
2. Pest Management: Identified common pests affecting rice crops in the region and demonstrated organic pest control methods.
3. Water Management: Advised farmers on efficient irrigation techniques to conserve water during the dry season.
4. Hybrid Varieties: Introduced high-yield rice varieties suitable for the local climate.
Key Findings:
- Most farms showed nitrogen deficiency
- Water wastage was a common issue
- Farmers were interested in organic methods but lacked knowledge
